Professional Information

I am a Spanish-English interpreter and translator, specializing in legal work, social services, and medical interpretation and translation. I am federal court certified and also court certified in Virginia. I also have particular expertise in interpretation and translation for immigration and refugee resettlement/domestic asylum matters. I have a master's degree in International Human Rights Law from the University of Oxford, and I am currently studying law (JD) at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC. In addition, I am a trainer of community interpreters, licensed to deliver The Community Interpreter International (medical or general). I have worked on several consulting projects for interpreter training design and delivery, including for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Bangkok, for the Australia Asia Program to Combat Trafficking in Persons (AAPTIP) on a judiciary capacity building project for the Thai judiciary, and
