Oversight
The 2026 election of directors shall be supervised by the Elections Committee, appointed by the Chair of the Board of Directors and approved by the Board, in accordance with NAJIT’s bylaws .
Voting Method
The election shall be conducted electronically using an online voting platform (Election Runner). Each eligible member will receive a secure, unique voting link.
Candidates
Only candidates formally approved by the Board of Directors may appear on the ballot. No write‑in candidates are permitted in accordance with NAJIT’s bylaws.
Ballot Preparation
The Elections Committee shall prepare the ballot, which will include:
The full name of each approved candidate
A candidate bio and statement (if provided)
Voting Period
Voting will open on 1 May 2026.
Voting will close on 16 May 2026.
Members will receive:
An email with a unique voting link, along with a Voter ID and Voter Key
These credentials allow each member to vote once and are not to be shared.
Two vote reminder emails will be sent during the voting period.
Plurality Vote
A plurality vote elects. The candidate receiving the highest number of votes for each open position shall be declared the winner.
Meet and Greet
A virtual Meet the Candidates session will be held on 28 April 2026 at 9:00 PM ET. A recording of the session will be made available to the membership via the NAJIT website.
Announcement of Results
The Elections Committee will verify the results after voting closes. Election results will be announced to the membership on 17 May 2026.
Reporting at the Annual Meeting
In accordance with the bylaws, the Elections Committee will report on the election at the Annual Meeting on 6 June 2026.
